You get DevOps
You get Software.
You get Sys Admin ( Linux and hopefully some Windows as well ) and some Networking
You may be a wee bit closer to Sys Admin and OPS but live and breath automation, CI CD, Deploy, Configure, Monitoring, Trouble Shoot, identify issue, resolve, and ensure there is one less issue.
You are competent with Python or Ruby, you can script with Bash and Cie with the best of them.
You are never satisfied with good enough and long to be surrounded by people with the same exacting standards are you.
You know you are good, but you are modest as a team player.
Due to the nature of the software ( proprietary ) and exacting requirements re latency ( we are talking milliseconds ...) this role does not involve public cloud nor containers.
Instead..its about building, supporting, maintaining and monitoring quite literally the very best high transaction systems and infrastructure on the globe today. No joke.
The goal is to embed a DevOps engineer within the dev team to have closer collaboration and increase efficiency in terms of quick delivery of business value. We'd like to improve our CI/CD process, increase our speed of adoption of Infrastructure as Code, improve our monitoring and logging solutions. What you’ll be working on:
•Ensuring all systems are functioning during any trading operations
•Preparing the systems for upcoming trades
•Automation and scripting initiatives
•Providing regular support in the areas of software and hardware maintenance and deployments
•Participating in a rotating shift to cover trading and maintenance activities ( once per month )
•Contributing to the support of multiple trades and improving current processes
Must Have Skills:
What is needed for this role:
•2 to 5 years in a DevOps or SRE role probably coming from Sys Admin OPS background.
•Strong trouble shooting (systems more so than code )
•Intermediate level programming / scripting skills (Powershell, bash, Python, Go, Ruby)
•Strong Sys Admin with Linux and front of the line if you have Windows admin as well
•Strong experience with CI CD, Automation, Monitoring
•Ability to learn quickly and a passion for new technology
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, that said, Bilingual is always best
•Ability to occasionally work alternative work schedules during European and Asian market hours (with additional bonus pay for those alternative shifts)
Nice to Have Skills:

•Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or Ansible
•Experience with Jenkins or Teamcity or Bamboo
•Computer Science degree/background
