They are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a growing team of engineers in their Toronto office. You will be the face of our office who will be expected to represent the team and be responsible for the team's output. Ideal candidates have led and scaled world-class engineering teams and have a solid technical background. They have a keen sense for developing engineers and an ability to inspire as well as foster accountability. Deep curiosity and the ability to go above and beyond to tackle big problems are key.

Must Have Skills:

- Manage a 6-15 person engineering team
- 3+ years as a manager of engineering team(s)
- 3+ years experience as an individual contributor on an engineering team
- Represent and promote the Toronto Engineering office
- Ensure the day to day cadence (ie. technical design reviews, code reviews, postmortems, weekly meetings, 1:1s etc.)
- Ensure engineering happiness and high performance
- Mentor the career development of your direct reports by setting both personal and professional goals
- Own the hiring plan, collaborate with recruiting on executing on it, assess and close candidates
- Manage the group’s technical strategy and prioritization of the road-map
- Participate in planning process and goal setting
- Previously worked within a modern development philosophy (Agile etc.)
- Strong educational credentials (top 100 school, etc.)
- Ability to influence others and get the team across the finish line


Nice to Have Skills:

- Customer facing experience
- Startup experience
- Worked in an environment that featured multiple teams spread over sites
- Finance, payments, risk, e-commerce background
