Data Analyst (AdTech)
Data Analyst (AdTech)
Toronto, Ontario - Permanent
Our client is a publicly traded gaming company that specializes in video games and e-sports. They reach over 50 million gamers monthly via their own digital media properties and live events with unique, curated, and user-generated posts across websites, digital properties and social media channels world wide. They also own and operate Canada's largest gaming expo!
They are currently seeking a Data Analyst to join their fast-growing team who can help them make better sense of their data, and lead experiments to grow their monetization platform and user base. The ideal candidate has experience in the Ad Tech industry analyzing data gathered or pulled from an ad server.
About The Role:
Create reports; Leveraging your attention to detail and your understanding of our business operations, you will be responsible for gathering data from various departments and preparing reports on both a need to know and regularly cadenced basis. These reports will be used by department heads and the executive team to provide insight into the company’s KPIs and departmental costs, performance and ROI.
Design experiments to increase monetization; You will collaborate with the monetization, content, tech and analytics teams to identify monetization opportunities on our web properties, and help design experiments to validate your hypotheses. Your experiments will leverage A/B and multivariate testing methods. You will be expected to interpret the results and present them to stakeholders, summarizing the conclusions reached and the data points collected to support those conclusions.
Conversion Optimization; You will collaborate with the monetization, content, tech and analytics teams to understand the impact of strategic web site changes on user conversion rates, and identify additional conversion strategies we can roll out to improve conversion rates.
You are obsessively detail-oriented and methodical; the numbers you gather are going to flow up to senior management and will be used to inform major business decisions. You must have the tendency to “measure twice, cut once”.
You are a confident communicator; You are able to articulate your thoughts very clearly to various audiences including managers, peers, and clients. If your findings are surprising or hard to believe, you must have confidence in your work and stand by it.
You are numerate; You don’t need a PHd, but you should be comfortable talking data with those that do. “Median”, “mode”, “quartile”, these are all terms that you should be comfortable using and applying.
You are a problem solver; you know how to make good decisions with with partial, incomplete, or disordered data, and correct your course as needed.
You are comfortable with the unknown; we are well-funded and organized, yet still have many exciting characteristics of a startup charting new paths. You need to be comfortable working in an environment that will continue to evolve.
You are a self-starter; you relish the opportunity to identify needs and take action, without being explicitly told to.
