Our client is a Fintech whose innovative products optimize the relationships between landlords, leasing staff, brokers, renters, and tenants by concurrently taking risk out of the leasing process and making it more efficient.
They have achieved 250% year over year growth the last 3 years, successfully raised $15M in a Series B, and are actively expanding their footprint nationwide.
This position will represent the most senior person in the Montreal office, and will be responsible for driving the hiring as well as overseeing the teams and the software development process. The culture of this office will be very dependent on you and we expect you to be able to develop a working environment where people enjoy their work and feel very connected to the company as a whole.
•Partner with Product, QA, UI/UX, Security, Underwriting and our Strategic Partners to consistently and rapidly deliver high quality solutions for our customers.
•You will have spent many years as a software engineer, transitioned to an architect or team lead role, into management, and now lead.
•You have deep experience with Agile, API solutions, DevOps and software development practices and management.
•You will put mechanisms in place to efficiently and effectively monitor code quality, predictability, resource allocation, application SLAs, security, and regulatory compliance.
•As a leader you will be expected to collaborate with the Engineering Director and other senior leadership to establish, enable and evolve Engineering's vision and mission, inspire the engineering team, lead by example and provide career development.
•You’ll make sure everyone in engineering has the skills, direction, and information they need to build great products.
Must Have Skills:
•5+ years in proven leadership positions, experience with leading teams of 10+ team members
•12+ years of relevant engineering experience
•Lead API design best practices, API management solutions, customer facing API portal enablement and on-going API support and maintenance
•Deliver high performing, highly scalable, maintainable, extensible, integration solutions
•Apply best practices of Agility and Scrum in a pragmatic way through deep understanding of each
•Implement technical strategies that align with business objectives
•Create overall technology standards and practices
•Mentor and coach software engineers with varied levels of experience requirements
•Possess a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering or a related discipline
•High IQ and EQ, proven strong leadership and decision making
•Strong communication skills, ability to articulate and sell a vision
•Strong execution skills and ability to drive action and accountability
•Proven track record of hiring and managing world-class talent
•Proven track record of defining and optimizing processes
•Ability to travel as necessary to support business (minimal)
