Job Description

Our client, a successful fin-tech start up in Toronto is looking for a System Operations Engineer who is proficient with Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will report to the Sr System Operation Engineer of the Operations team. Your primary focus will be on provisioning, maintenance and monitoring resources in AWS, along with:

-You will closely work with other teams on solving Infrastructure and application related issues.
-You will work on creating/modifying jobs in Jenkins and fixing deployment related issues.
-You will also write Python/Bash script to automate Infrastructure provisioning, monitoring etc.
-Any infrastructure changes done by you should comply with security policy and standards.

Configure and maintain resources on AWS environment
System administration experience on AWS including EC2, ECS, S3, ALB, Autoscaling, RDS, Cloudfront, Cloudwatch, Route53, VPC, Elasticache and Elasticsearch
Working experience in Infrastructure as code tools - CloudFormation and terraform
Experience in DevOps tools - Github, Jenkins and Ansible.
Work closely with Developers and other team members for solving infrastructure and application related issues.
Experience with Linux system administration
Programming experience in Python and Bash
Experience in monitoring tools like Cloudwatch, icanga2/Nagios etc.,
Ability to evaluate new AWS services/Tools and onboarding into infrastructure with all security controls in place

Must Have Skills:

BS in Computer Science or equivalent area
3+ years of System administration experience
3+ years of AWS cloud operations experience
Python, Bash programming experience
Experience in AWS services - CloudFormation, CloudWatch, EC2, ECS,
Route53, Cloudfront, Elasticsearch, Elasticache, S3, VPC and ALB
Experience in Jenkins, Github and Ansible
Familiarity with MongoDB administration
Experience in Container monitoring and Rundeck is a plus

Nice to Have Skills:

AWS certified solutions architect associate or AWS certified sysops administrator
