Job Description

A leading innovation Digital Consultancy company, with clients such as Google, Walmart, etc., are expanding their Canadian Innovation Hub

Primary Responsibilities:
Concepting
● Leads the creation of Mobile UX concepts through Design Workshops and Design Sprints.
● Applies an expert understanding of clients’ needs, business objectives, and brand goals to inform the insightful user
experience concepts while enhancing others’ knowledge and understanding of the client’s brand, consumer and
competitive landscape.
● Presents UX concepts and communicates rationale to internal and client teams
● Establishes and gives direction to the product design team to work on the product designs
Design
● Leverages an expert understanding of technologies, user interface, and interaction design fundamentals and techniques
in generating/leading a project’s creative team to generate an effective solution for all elements of the UX design
● Shares and strategically applies the latest industry and design trends. Has a strong understanding of many digital
best practices, with an emphasis on mobile.
● Defines and authors the UX Brief. Contributes to and directs others in the creation of application maps, user flows, wireframes, navigational models, persona's, user research, heuristic analysis, competitive analysis and presentations.
● Prepares and presents interaction concepts and models for direction and approval. Incorporate revisions per client
and/or team feedback as appropriate. Ensures designs align to interaction models and overall design approach
Collaboration
● Partners with technology and PMO at different levels to ensure the solution meets creative strategy/program
objectives. Ensures solution meets technical requirements and complements technical strategy.
● Considers technology requirements and designs a solution that complements the technical strategy and/or partners
with the technology staff to overcome implementation obstacles.
● Leverages other disciplines (i.e. user research, strategy) in the creation of the work and ensures validity and
effectiveness of the approach.
Client Relationships
● Proactively contributes ideas and rationale for creative choices in client meetings
● Shares the role of the creative strategic lead in client relationships, as appropriate
● Instrumental in developing client requested POVs.
● Supports new business opportunities by contributing to and/or participating in proposals, pitches, and presentations to
current or prospective clients, as needed.


Must Have Skills:

● Exemplary interaction design portfolio with examples of mobile and touch work that demonstrates conceptual problem
solving and the ability to define interaction and navigational frameworks and models for integrated experiences
● 5+ years of design experience preferably in a digital or mobile agency
● Expert command of standard interaction design, prototyping, and presentation applications
● Sophisticated awareness of the digital landscape with an emphasis on mobile; including transactional/commerce, core
product, social media, customer self-service, marketing, and IoT experiences.
● Strong understanding of multiple delivery methodologies with an emphasis on agile and the ability to present
internally/externally.
● Has managed and led multiple assignments at the same time
● Demonstrated ability to utilize feedback/direction to generate functional interaction design explorations and iterate
designs to the satisfaction
● Creative problem-solving skills that enable you to help establish a look & feel for a given project, evaluate a design
approach, brainstorm, think and respond quickly while delivering unexpected, original, and innovative ideas.
● Careful attention to detail and awareness of version control issues.
● Advanced understanding of technical and cross-platform implications (strengths and limitations of individual native,
hybrid, and HTML platforms).
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to clearly articulate your interaction design process, thoughts,
ideas, and a point of view about your work, both internally and externally to clients. Able to give thoughtful feedback to
the team.
● Excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment with
multidisciplinary teams.
● Expert knowledge of and the ability to communicate steps required in the experience design and development process.
