Job Description

As an experienced DBA, who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up, you will be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture. We are looking for a specialist who is confident in both data platform management and optimization. You will play an important role in keeping our database platform secured and stable while cooperating closely with other teams, primarily based in our offices in Europe, and also supporting business and product teams in Toronto, Medellin and within the data field for US time zones. You will also be involved in integration solutions and data delivery services. There's plenty of work and challenges as we keep growing and entering new markets.


What you’ll do

Monitor, maintain, and configure our on-premise and cloud databases (AWS, Nutanix)
Independently drive projects such as migrations, upgrades, and installation
Create new environments for production and development
Development support including code reviews and load testing
Interpret database events and waits to advise on future development and improvements
Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
Performance tuning queries and database objects
Capacity planning and resource management
PL/SQL development as necessary to complete administration tasks
Shell and other scripting to perform administration tasks
Process requests and enact changes to all databases
Cooperate closely with Development and Operations and implement database-related solutions based on business requirements
Implement and maintain data security and auditing
Maintain backup and recovery policies, optimize and ensure database resiliency


Must Have Skills:

All About You:

3+ years of experience in Oracle database administration and optimization
Extensive experience with Oracle 12c & 19c on Linux
Good knowledge of PL/SQL
Ability to work effectively in cooperation with teams across multiple continents and time zones
Excellent communication and documentation skills
A sense of pride, ownership and a passion for technology
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Development of archiving solutions
Experience with partitioning
Experience working with large tables
Experience with automation solutions
Python scripting
Relevant certifications
Experience with Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence)
Familiarity with Agile working practices
