Job Description

Role:
This individual’s work will be approximately 50% People Management, 30% Technical Guidance, and 20% Documentation.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
• Accountable for the associated technical strategy and architecture patterns & roadmaps, optimally balancing business needs with enterprise target architecture objectives.
• Champion and drive modernization within the portfolio, identifying technical issues & risks to ensure technology currency.
• Collaborate with senior developers, architects, technical specialists, business subject matter experts, vendors, third parties, and related stakeholders across the organization to drive detailed design and implementations.
• Represent IT in dialogues with business teams; present options with pros, cons, and implications for consideration in business decision-making.
• Provide critical thinking and technical leadership from the idea creation stage to the implementation of each project
• Present architecture design recommendations to senior management and executives for review, including local Project Architecture Review Committee (PARC) and Architecture Review Board (ARB) meetings.
• Focus on reducing friction, increasing reuse, and innovating towards accelerated delivery.
Responsibilities:
Conduct 1:1 meetings, hiring, performance management, and reviews
Write technical specifications
Drive process improvements to deliver operational excellence
Write requirements and design specifications
Architect and deliver cloud-based solutions (front-end, backend, database, etc)
Mentor direct reports for technical and career guidance
Must Have Skills:
Degree in biomedical / software engineering, computer science, or a related discipline
Experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
7+ years working with software
2+ years leading teams
2+ years in medical device development
Experience working with medical devices Regulations and Quality Management Systems such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 60601-1, MDSAP, MDR, HIPAA
Participated in a medical device submission for FDA, Health Canada, or EU
Managed software teams
Nice to Have Skills:
Created documentation: software development plans, DHR, DHF, DMR, SOPs
Worked with a leading cloud computing platform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Familiarity with Scrum development
Knowledge of ECG, SpO2, etc
