We are looking for a Director of Electrical Engineering to join our Research and Development
team reporting to VP of R&
The individual will have the opportunity to bring to market wearable biomedical systems while
coordinating several design and development efforts for multiple projects, connecting with
suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the timely production of the company’s devices as well
as learning about and evaluating cutting edge technologies, as per the overall objectives of
in the pursuit of creating the next generation of smart clothing products.
Must Have Skills:
Help plan, coordinate, and supervise efforts from other team members.
Meet with CMs, FAEs, sales reps to maintain strong relationships with distributors and
Review international standards (IEC, ISO, IPC, etc.) for product specification
Source and evaluate state-of-the-art electronic components.
Prepare design, manufacturing, and test documents/procedures.
Help in the bring-up of PCBAs, create test plans, generate test reports, perform Root
Cause Analysis, and lead new design iterations.
Oversee and guide designs from other team members to ensure future manufacturability
(DFM, DFA, DFT).
Interface and work in conjunction with CMs to bring the products to market and
troubleshoot production issues.
Guide and mentor other members of the team.
Work closely with a variety of people/teams with different disciplines (mechanical, data
science, software, industrial design, textile) for system integration.
BSc, MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related fields.
10+ years of industry experience in high-volume electronic hardware manufacturing.
Very good communication skills, being able to work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary
team, as well as taking responsibility for a project and delivering it in a timely manner.
Experienced in analog/mixed-signal electronics circuitry including biomedical
Experience in ultra-low-power electronics.
Experience with high-density, miniaturized PCBs (e.g. 8+ layers, 0201 packages and
smaller, 0.4mm WLCSP, and so on).
Knowledge of embedded software development concepts (baremetal, RTOS, interfacing
protocols, optimizations for power consumption).
Knowledge of ISO 13485 and/or IEC 62304, 60601, etc.
Strong analytical, problem solving, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.
Ability to contribute and work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Nice to Have Skills:
Hands-on experience with designing, assembling, prototyping, integration, testing, and
troubleshooting of analog/digital circuits and embedded software is an asset.
Experience in sensitive bio signal recording, instrumentation, and signal processing
techniques (ECG, EEG, EMG, GSR, etc.) is a plus.
Having worked with Bluetooth Low Energy/WiFi/IoT micro controlled boards is an asset.
RF and electromagnetism design experience is a plus.
Proficiency with simulation software such as Tina, LTSpice, and PCB design software
such as Altium, Eagle.
Proficiency in operating electronics test equipment such as digital multimeters,
oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and typical laboratory instruments.
