Job Description

Our client raised a Series C of $45million USD, for over $100million total financing and is now rapidly scaling. They spun out of the UC Berkeley AI Research Lab and develops artificial intelligence to support care for those with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other cognitive impairments.

Alzheimer’s disease is the single most expensive disease in the US, costing an estimated $600b per year in direct and indirect costs. It affects 1 in 3 people over 85 and 1 in 9 people over 65. Their first product is focused on reducing the frequency and impact of falls, the leading cause of hospitalization for those living with Dementia. We have peer-reviewed results showing up to 80% fewer falls with an average of 40% fewer falls and 80% fewer ER visits from falls.

Your Role:


The Fleet Development Director is responsible for the Fleet Management team. The Fleet team oversees the software on cameras and servers used by computer vision algorithms to detect falls and monitor residents' and caretakers' activities. The team develops software to manage the entire lifecycle of field equipment. This role involves owning all aspects of the fleet management platform and the containerized embedded stack.

This position requires close collaboration with the product management team and peers to define, design, and implement mission-critical solutions focused on system scalability and reliability. Mentoring junior team members and leading projects through the full development lifecycle may also be part of the responsibilities.

As the most senior member in the Quebec presence, this role also includes acting as the site lead. Responsibilities include representing the company in Quebec, supporting overall R&D hiring in the area, assisting in organizing local events, and participating in partnerships.


Must Have Skills:

•Build roadmaps for our Fleet solution, working closely with our operation team and product management
•Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing team
•Drive improvements to the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of SafelyYou core embedded products with scale and reproducibility in mind: “cattle only, and no pets”.
•Mentor your team and provide support in architectural decisions, investigations, troubleshooting issues, and designing solutions
•Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment, while maintaining high standards of software quality
•Promote the adoption of agile best practices while being an ambassador of our company values
•Communicate passionately about the team, our mission, and technology
