Our platform rapidly sifts through millions of unstructured, cross-channel media datasets, transforming them into actionable insights. By identifying adversarial online messaging, understanding its audience, and providing crucial context such as source credibility, we empower our customers to effectively respond to digital threats.

Their team takes on complex media challenges, from crisis management to countering state-backed disinformation. We help clients stay ahead of social media manipulation and emerging threats by spotting and stopping harmful online trends.

They're seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking Senior Data Engineer & DevOps Lead to drive the design, implementation, and growth of data infrastructure and DevOps strategies. In this role, you'll work closely with Data, Product, and Engineering teams to develop a unified vision for scalable, secure, and efficient systems. You'll also play a key role in building and mentoring a high-performing team of data engineers and DevOps professionals. Your expertise will be essential in aligning data systems with business needs and fostering innovation across the organization.

What you will accomplish:

* Develop and execute the long-term vision for data engineering and DevOps strategies
* Design and implement scalable data pipelines and processing frameworks using SQL and AWS
* Establish best practices for data governance, quality, and security
* Lead modern DevOps methodologies and streamline CI/CD pipelines
* Implement robust monitoring systems for applications and data infrastructure
* Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver on business needs
* Build, mentor, and lead a team of data engineers and DevOps professionals


Must Have Skills:

Key Requirements:

* 13+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years in data engineering/ops
* Track record managing high-performing technical teams
* Experience with data orchestration platforms (Airflow or Dagster)
* Expertise with Elasticsearch or Opensearch or something similar
* Exceptional leadership and decision-making abilities
* Clear communication skills across all channels

Technical Skills:

* Proficiency in programming languages, especially Python, and comfortable with automation
* Experience with big data technologies, particularly Kafka
* Experience with Snowflake or other data warehouses

Infrastructure & Architecture:

* Experience designing data architectures, ETL processes, and DevOps pipelines
* Cloud platform expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Experience with DevOps tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins)
* Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
* Experience building data pipelines from scratch

Data Management:

* Database architecture design expertise (SQL, SQLAlchemy, Postgres, Athena, Parquet, Iceberg)
* Experience with relational and non-relational databases
* Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards
* Familiarity with ML/AI infrastructure


Nice to Have Skills:
